Svenska Aerogel is a development partner and material supplier who in close cooperation with customers develops cutting edge applications of Quartzene®. With our patented production process it is possible to create a number of different commercial products. We are at present focusing on these main areas :

Together with our partners, we are active in projects financed by the EU. All projects contributs to Quartzene® usage in commercial applications and is expected to generate revenue when products are introduced on the market. By participating in these projects, Svenska Aerogel sees the opportunities to evaluate the properties of Quartzene®and move on to a commercial production.

“Light energy efficient and secure facade elements” funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme. The project involves 12 companies and organizations working together to develop environmentally friendly products for the construction sector. The collaboration is governed by a consortium agreement and runs for 42 months starting on 1 Aug, 2013.
“Construction materials for healthy indoor environment” funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme. The project involves 12 companies and organizations working together to develop new products with Quartzene® that provides a healthier indoor environment. The collaboration is governed by a consortium agreement and runs for 42 months starting on 1 Aug, 2013.
“Improved indoor environment and extended sustainability for food in refrigerators” financed by Eurostar by Vinnova and TUBITAK. The project involves four companies and organizations. Quartzene® is used as a filter material. The appliance manufacturer Arcelik A.S. is involved. The collaboration is governed by a consortium agreement and runs from April 2016 to March 2018.
“The manufacturing process – Verification of Quartzene®” funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Framework Programme. In this project Svenska Aerogel is cooperating with three European companies and one company from the Republic of Korea to vereify the usage of Quartzene® as insulation material in an operational environment. The project will also verify the final design of the first future full scale plants that Svenska Aerogel or its customers (through licensing agreements) aim to operate in the EU. By the end of the project, Quartzene® will be ready for commercial use as an insulation material.
