Quartzene and the Environment

In Insulation: Reduced energy usage – reduced emissions: Quartzene is a non-flammable material with excellent insulating properties. When it is added to a material (paper, cement, wood, plaster, paint, etc.) the material’s insulating properties improve. For example, by adding Quartzene to mineral wool, and thus doubling the wool’s insulating characteristics, energy usage is halved. Or, as an alternative, the thickness of the mineral wool could be halved but still retain the same level of insulation.

In Paint and Coatings: The global demand for paint additives is steadily increasing. These include rheology modifiers, biocides, surface active agents, drying agents, foam-control additives, etc. and here, Quartzene can make a contribution. With the Quartzene technology, the amounts of expensive substances and substances that are undesirable from an environmental and health perspective could significantly be reduced. Quartzene can be configured to release substances slowly.

In Filtration: Air filtration – Quartzene effectively absorbs various gases. To increase the effect, a number of capturing chemicals that chemically react with the gases to be filtered can be added. Examples of this are sulfur compounds and formaldehyde.

Liquids – Quartzene effectively filters substances and molecules from liquids. In order to enhance the physical filtering effect of the pore system, capture chemicals can be added to absorb unwanted substances.

In Production: No negative environmental impact. In production, large amounts of water are used. The production waste water has a somewhat higher salinity. The waste water is circulated and reused in further production.
