The company's product portfolio is continuously developed through various research and development projects. This takes place either in externally financed consortium projects where marketing partners are involved or run in-house with customers where we develop products and services within the various applications that customers are willing to pay for.
Svenska Aerogel has its own laboratory in Gävle and also has several established external collaborations with universities and institutes all over the world.
In 2010, Svenska Aerogel was named Nordic Cleantech Company of the Year and in 2011 the company was included as one of the finalists in the Nordic Cleantech Open.
Svenska Aerogel is also recognized by WWF as Climate Solver in a report on innovative companies with the potential to reduce greenhouse gases on a global level. In 2016, Svenska Aerogel was granted funding from the EU Commission in the prestigious SME Instrument Phase 2 program with the aim of verifying the application of Quartzene® together with selected key customers from different market areas.
