Ekomarine Paint AB has for years developed a formulation with Quartzene for boats. Adding Quartzene to the paint avoids the growth of for example, barnacles and algae, and consequently reduces the fuel consumption. The formulation has shown very good results in extensive tests.
"Quartzene has beneficial properties for the paint industry in many ways. For the marine industry we know that the market with excitement is awaiting an environmentally safe antifouling paint that at the same time does not compromise on the results, "says Anders Lundström, CEO of Svenska Aerogel.
"It feels extremely satisfying to be able to contribute to the development of environmentally safe paints used in our waters. It is said that a large proportion - up to 90 percent - of all bottom-painted recreational boats, are coated with toxic paint.”
"Our new product, Neptune Formula New Generation, which is the subject of patent application, has shown good results on both the east and west coasts and we are looking forward to a successful launch in 2018," says Henrik Ekstrand, CEO of Ekomarine Paint AB.
